Oscar De La Hoya’s $13M Bel Air mansion

The Golden Boy, a boxing promoter and former world champion, paid $14.6 million in cash for a property that was still under construction in the exclusive Henderson hillside neighborhood of MacDonald Highlands.

According to the Las Vegas Realtors Association’s Multiple Listing Service, the purchase came in first place among local Las Vegas area sales in May. After being traded to Buffalo, Las Vegas Golden Knight Alex Tuch sold his home in Summerlin, making it one of two sports celebrities to do so in May.

The one-story residence of De La Hoya has 10,460 square feet of usable area, five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and an eight-car garage. It is situated on almost an acre. According to Clark County property records, Dragon Peak LLC purchased the house from upscale builder Blue Heron. It gives the address 1990 S. Bundy Drive, which is connected to Oscar De La Hoya Real Estate, the Oscar De La Hoya Foundation, and Golden Boy Enterprises.

The house is a part of Blue Heron’s Equinox Collection at MacDonald Highlands and is close to a home that cost a record-breaking $25 million that was sold by the developer to Anthony Hsieh in June 2020. Hsieh is the founder and chairman of LoanDepot, a California-based non-bank consumer lender of home mortgages across the nation.

According to Kristen Routh-Silberman, a partner with Corcoran Global Living, the De La Hoya bespoke home is described as having a floor plan design that only Blue Heron can build, with its indoor, outdoor, and water amenities. It is a traditional style with a contemporary touch, she explained, and measures 8,051 square feet on the inside and 2,409 square feet outside.

According to Routh-Silberman, it “represents another masterpiece and milestone for Blue Heron and Tyler Jones.” It’s fantastic and when it’s finished, it’ll be a stunner. As part of Blue Heron’s ongoing evolution, they have combined modern and timeless elements in this residence. They have a new appearance. For contemporary architecture, it is extremely elegant. When it is finished, it ought to be a showcase in Architectural Digest.

The house offers sweeping views of the mountains and the Strip. Water elements and a porte-cochere make the entrance a statement. Every man wants the garages and an entry to make a statement as you approach, according to Routh-Silberman.

The house contains a main bedroom with its own wing, as well as a guest wing with a cinema room and a digital den. Additionally, a bar, gym, and office are included. An outdoor living room, outdoor kitchen, and an outdoor dining and wine room are further highlights. The lap pool is in the backyard. There are play spaces, fire couches, and a spa.

When the house is finished early next year, Blue Heron CEO and creator Tyler Jones said it will be fully outfitted with pieces from their furniture line.

The buyer’s agent was Simply Vegas Realtor Payge Avery.

According to Forrest Barbee, corporate broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, there were 178 transactions of $1 million or more luxury homes and condos in May. At the start of June, there were 230 pending sales. Although less than the all-time record of 218 in April, that is the third-highest monthly sales total of $1 million or more in history.

29 sales between $2 million and $2.99 million were reported in May, one fewer than in May 2021, according to Rob Jensen, broker and owner of the Rob Jensen Co. Four sales between $3 million and $3.99 million were made, which is fewer than the eight in May 2021. Six sales of $4 million or more were made, which is two fewer than in May 2021.
