‘There’s a lot of pressure’: Selena Gomez ‘feels responsible for a lot of other people’ sources claim as star checks into psychiatric facility

Selena Gomez is allegedly receiving much-needed mental health treatment in an East Coast psychiatric hospital.

Additionally, those close to the 26-year-old told Us that Selena feels “responsible” for others and has lived under pressure her entire life.

She feels truly kind, considerate, and lovely, yet she has always felt a great deal of responsibility for many other people. There is a great deal of strain, the person told Us.

‘She’s sensitive; she also doesn’t want to do a big press run and get asked about topics that she doesn’t want to talk about,’ they said further.

After being brought to Cedars-Sinai, the Wolves vocalist spent several days there before being allowed to leave.

A week later, the actress had to be readmitted for the same issue, but this time, she apparently had a panic attack and responded much worse.

A source told PEOPLE, “She has had a difficult few weeks, and the panic attack in the hospital was the tipping point.”

“She realized she needed to seek additional help for her ongoing emotional issues,” the insider continued. She has a large support system and is surrounded by close relatives. Now that she’s feeling better, she’s going to the East Coast for therapy.

The beauty is apparently receiving dialectical behavior therapy, or DBT, at the facility. 

The pop diva was reportedly having a “emotional breakdown” and had been hospitalized twice in as many weeks, according to TMZ on Wednesday.

The outlet claims that Selena was home with friends in the final week of September, and they described her as “despondent and emotional” due to her dangerously low white blood cell count following her kidney transplant.

Selena has previously received DBT, an evidence-based psychotherapy meant to assist those with borderline personality disorder.  

The young celebrity discussed her mental health with Vogue last year and gave positive feedback on the care she received.

“DBT has transformed my life,” she declared to the publication.

Selena has openly discussed her experiences with anxiety and depression in the past, and she has also made a deliberate effort to urge others to talk about these issues as well.   

The superstar opened out to followers in an hour-long Instagram Live session just before her initial hospitalization last month, sharing that “depression was my life ‘for five years straight.”
