In a heartwarming throwback photo posted by his wife Emma Heming for Thanksgiving, Bruce Willis was surrounded by his entire blended family.
He has five daughters: Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, nine, from his marriage to Emma, as well as Rumer, 35, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 29, from his first marriage to Demi Moore.
All of Bruce’s children and both of his wives have rallied around him as the 68-year-old actor battles dementia.
In Emma’s flashback photo, they were all with him, as were Scout’s boyfriend Jake Miller and Rumer’s boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas.
Rumer was apparently still pregnant with her and Derek’s daughter Louetta at the time the photo was taken, which she gave birth to in April.
‘I’m grateful and thankful to know this kind of love,’ Emma wrote in a caption filled with heart emojis. ‘Merry Thanksgiving to everyone.’
Rumer had posted a touching throwback photo of herself as a little girl in Bruce’s arms just three days before, writing, ‘Really missing my papa today.’
Her post came about a month after a heartbreaking update on Bruce’s dementia decline from one of his old friends.
Glenn Gordon Caron, the creator of Bruce’s Һit 1980s sitcom Moonlighting, spoke about his visits to the actor during his illness.
‘My sense is he knows who I am within the first one to three minutes,’ Glenn said in a devastating interview with Page Six. ‘He’s not completely verbal; he used to be a voracious reader – which he didn’t want anyone to know – and he doesn’t read anymore.’
‘All those language skills are no longer available to him, and yet he’s still Bruce,’ Glenn, who also created the show Medium, revealed.
‘When you’re with him, you know he’s Bruce, and you’re grateful that he’s there, but the joie de vivre is gone,’ he added.
Bruce retired from show business last year due to his bаttle with the brain condition aphasia, which causes the patient’s language abilities to deteriorate.
