One of the biggest fights of the year and one of the biggest spectacles in combat sports was Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou. Thankfully, the battle lived up to expectations and provided plenty of discussion points for the audience. As such, opinions on what should happen next are still strongly held by combat sports and boxing fans worldwide. 

The “Battle of the Baddest” used to be held in Saudi Arabia. Tyson Fury, the world’s heavyweight champion by birth, faced Ngannou, the former heavyweight champion of the UFC. Despite widespread expectations, the “Gypsy King” was only able to secure a contentious split decision. As a result, there has been much discussion about Fury perhaps having to correct the record. In an interview with The Joe Rogan Experience #2063, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson offered additional commentary on the subject. “With Tyson, I feel like I need this fight, not just in terms of champion mentality, but right here (pointing to his heart).” I have to perform it (the rematch) using the mana, the current champion. Consequently, The Rock and Joe Rogan feel that the fight should be reexamined, particularly in light of how it transpired. 

For those who don’t know, there was no prayer offered for the challenger, Francis Ngannou. But that night, “The Predator” shocked everyone by facing off against possibly the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time. In Round 3, Ngannou not only stopped Fury, but continued to fight all the way to the finish. 

Joe Rogan and Dwayne Johnson are hoping for a rematch between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia.

It was clear after Fury’s contentious decision win that a lot of people were upset. Many first claimed that the British boxer was being “protected” in order to maintain the integrity of his bout with Oleksandr Usyk. Furthermore, the battle was rescheduled until 2024 once it became apparent that Fury had sustained significant injuries. 

Speaking on Francis Ngannou, Joe Rogan disclosed that not even Terence Crawford, the undefeated Welterweight, gave him a chance. Furthermore, Joe previously expressed his desire for Fury to completely demolish Ngannou. The pundit claimed that he wanted Fury to demonstrate why he was the greatest in the world. But since then, Rogan has given the former UFC champion his roses and given him his blessing to succeed in any future rematch.A former athlete and combat sports fanatic like The Rock was bound to agree with the podcaster, of course. So the two men talked about what they thought ought to happen next. Joe Rogan thinks that Fury should defeat Usyk and then go back and refight the Ngannou fight. Furthermore, Johnson and Rogan are aware that the Saudis possess the resources and know-how to make it happen.
