Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez’s presence lights up any room they enter.

The “Lover” singer, 34, and the Only Murders in the Building star, 31, shared a hug at Sunday’s 2024 Golden Globes where Swift’s Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie received a nod for cinematic and box office achievement, and Gomez earned a nod in the best performance by a female actor in a television musical or comedy for her role in the Hulu series. The Golden Globes shared photos on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption “Girls night at the #GoldenGlobes.”

According to Variety, The Eras Tour became the highest-grossing concert film, surpassing Michael Jackson’s This Is It.

Gomez wore a vibrant red Giorgio Armani dress with an asymmetrical hemline and black accents to the awards show on Sunday. The frock also featured cutouts in the front with black rosettes, a black waistband, and a black lining that peeked out from beneath. The Rare Beauty founder wore the dress with metallic red Christian Louboutin heels and black nail polish.

Last month, Gomez celebrated Swift’s 34th birthday with an Instagram Story post featuring the pop star kissing her on the cheek. “Happy Birthday to the goddess that is @TaylorSwift,” Gomez wrote on her Twitter account. She also shared a graphic on her Instagram Story that said, “I love you.”

In September, Gomez captioned a series of Instagram selfies with Swift, “Thas my best friend -she a real bad,” a line from Swift’s song “Best Friend.”

Tonight, the longtime friends and singers reunited for a very different ceremony: the 2024 Golden Globes. Both are nominated for awards tonight. Gomez is nominated for Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy for her role in Only Murders in the Building. Swift is nominated for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement for her Eras tour concert film. While Gomez did not win her category, Swift may still win hers. Should she win, it will be her first Golden Globe.

Gomez and Swift did not share a moment on the red carpet. However, during the ceremony, they were filmed and photographed talking and hugging.

 

 

Gomez and Swift have been friends since 2008. They were last seen together in New York City, the day before Swift turned 34. Gomez paid tribute to Swift on Instagram, posting a photo of them next to Swift’s birthday cake. “New York, my favorite moments with you this week 🤍,” Gomez captioned the post.
