Patrick Mahomes recently addressed his friendship with Taylor Swift, praising the singer’s NFL knowledge while dating Travis Kelce.
“I’ve met a lot of famous people in my life, and Taylor is probably the most down-to-earth person that’s been on that stage for that long,” Mahomes said in an exclusive interview with TIME after the magazine named the Super Bowl winner one of the most influential people of 2024.
Mahomes stated, “She is never not working. Even when she is taking a break, she is working on something.”
Mahomes gushed about the songstress, saying, “Shooting a music video, singing a song, or writing a song.” You can see it in the way she speaks.”
“Even when she’s talking about football, when she’s learning it, you can see her business mind putting it together,” said the former NFL player.
Mahomes continued, “It’s almost as if she’s trying to become a coach. “Why don’t you try this, this, and this?” She’s asking the correct questions.
In response to Swift’s romantic relationship with Kelce, Mahomes revealed that Swift’s support for the Chiefs “meant the team went from a nationwide team that was kind of global to a full global worldwide team – that came from Taylor’s fanbase”.
Swift told TIME magazine last year that she “enjoyed watching football after she met Kelce”.
“As it turns out, football is awesome. “I’ve been missing out my entire life,” stated the singer.
Meanwhile, Swift went to 13 Chiefs games last season and returned from four Eras Tour dates in Tokyo to witness Kelce and Mahomes win the Super Bowl in Las Vegas in February.
Following her public relationship with Kelce in September 2023, the singer became friends with Mahomes’ wife Brittany Mahomes.
