After avoiding the red carpet, Taylor Swift surprised everyone by going up on stage at the Golden Globes last night. Together with Luther star Idris Elba, the singer accepted the Best Original Song prize on stage.

The 29-year-old looked stunning in an off-the-shoulder black gown from Atelier Versace. Over a nude minidress, the corseted dress had a sheer overlay with a thigh-high split. She accessorized it with statement earrings, a bright red lip, and a traditional updo.It was speculated that Swift may have appeared on the red carpet alongside her boyfriend Joe Alwyn, whose movie The Favourite received a Best Picture nomination.

Elba and Swift presented the Best Original Song award to Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga for Shallows, from hit film A Star is Born.
