In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Selena Gomez shared her views on finances. In it, the former Disney star admitted that she feels uncomfortable talking about money, especially now that she has become a billionaire.
“I’m so grateful, but personally I still feel uncomfortable talking about money. I’m really thankful for the people who buy my products,” Selena said of the success of her cosmetics brand Rare Beauty. “They’re the ones who made my dream come true. So I’m really honored and happy.”
The Only Murders in the Building star achieved billionaire status last month, when she made her debut on Bloomberg’s list. The 1992-born singer’s current net worth is $1.3 billion, thanks to her work as an actress, singer, and entrepreneur.
According to Bloomberg, Rare Beauty cosmetics played a big role in helping the American star achieve billionaire status and this is also the singer’s “big asset”. Previously, she denied rumors that she was considering selling the brand after the company reached a valuation of 2 billion USD.
“I really didn’t have a plan for it,” Selena insists. “I admit that sometimes I feel overwhelmed. I think it’s weird that if I focus on the numbers, I lose sight of what makes my brand.”
