Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña matched in black outfits for the BAFTA screening of their queer crime musical Emilia Pérez, held at 195 Piccadilly in London on Sunday.
Selena’s noticeably slimmer figure in 2024 compared to 2023 has sparked speculation that she may be using the popular weight-loss drug Ozempic.
The 32-year-old Emmy nominee showcased her ample cleavage in a pleated Elie Saab gown, complete with intricate sleeve details, shiny pumps, and jewelry from Hassanzadeh, chosen by stylist Erin Walsh.
Hairstylist Renato Campora styled Gomez’s hair into a low ponytail with a middle part for the film event.
Makeup artist Hung Vanngo expertly contoured the billionaire’s complexion and applied ‘Gifted’ lipstick and lip liner from her Rare Beauty brand.
Nail artist Mo Qin completed Selena Gomez’s look with a delicate whisper pink manicure, adding a soft touch to her elegant ensemble. In Jacques Audiard’s upcoming musical Emilia Pérez, Selena takes on the compelling role of Jessi Del Monte, the ex-wife of a transgender Mexican cartel leader.
The film, set to release in select theaters on November 1 before streaming on Netflix starting November 13, has already garnered impressive critical praise, earning an 86% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaking at Deadline’s Contenders London event, Selena expressed her excitement about being involved in the project.
“I wanted to be a part of this for many reasons,” the Texan-born star shared. “As an actor, it’s a privilege to work with someone like Jacques, and on a personal level, I’m honored to learn from these incredible women. None of us expected the film to achieve this level of success, but we’re truly grateful. For me, this project is a stepping stone to what I’m capable of and what I’m willing to pursue.”
Meanwhile, Zoe Saldaña, with her roots in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, opted for a bold fashion choice, wearing a black embellished corset top paired with baggy pleated trousers.
Stylist Petra Flannery curated her look, while hairstylist Mara Roszak crafted an elegant top bun to complement the chandelier earrings shaped like eyeballs.
Make-up artist Vera Steimberg completed Zoe’s striking appearance with a smoky eye, defined brows, and a glossy pink pout, making her presence on the red carpet just as unforgettable as the film itself.
